Ready for yet another rumor about the next Nexus phone from Google? According to Android Geeks, who I actually owe an apology to since they got the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date weeks in advance and I made fun of them for that, they say Google will price the 16 GB Nexus 5 at $399 and the 32 GB model at $449. Remember, the 32 GB model will also allegedly have a larger battery, hence the added cost.

Now in order to appease the cheapskates out there who want a Nexus on a budget, Android Geeks goes on to say that there will be a 4G LTE enabled Nexus 4 that will also be released in both 16 GB and 32 GB flavors for $299 and $349 respectively. Note that the original Nexus 4 actually shipped with 4G LTE support, but on an odd band, and it got turned off via a firmware update since Google didn’t get 4G LTE certification from the FCC.

So is this a good thing? Yes. Even at $449, the 32 GB Nexus 5 is a total bargain, and if you think that’s expensive, then please never come back to this website again. Snapdragon 800, 5.0 inch 1080p, 2 GB of RAM, 8 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, 3,000 mAh batter, 32 GB of storage, for $449. Expensive? Really?

And about the Nexus 4, if this rumor it true, that means it’s going to get supported for at least another year, which is great. No one likes buying a Nexus and then watching Google give up on it after 18 months. Then again, the Nexus phones are so cheap that maybe Google actually does want you to buy one every year?
