When Google launched Android one year after Apple launched the iPhone, they didn’t really expect it would be powering so many different types of devices. There are Android head units for cars, Android watches, tablets, of course, and now, thanks to Lenovo, an Android powered laptop. You might be thinking to yourself that this isn’t the first Android laptop, and you’re technically right because ASUS did make the Transformer, but the A10 is the first real bonafide laptop with a non-removable screen from a big company that’s running Android.

What’s inside? There’s a 10.1 inch display of an unknown resolution, but the word “HD” has been thrown around, so I’m assuming that means at least 720p. Also, the chip inside (four ARM Cortex A9 cores at 1.6 GHz) is from a company called “Rockchip”. You’ve probably never heard of them, but they’re a big deal in China. Think of them like an even cheaper version of MediaTek (yes, it’s possible). There’s two gigs of RAM, WiFi, an HDMI port, and the keyboard even flips over so you can use it as an actual tablet. Lenovo actually gave birth to this concept with the Yoga family.

But anyway, moment of truth, should you buy this? Despite it costing just 250 Euros, I’m going to have to give this machine two thumbs down. If you want Android on the cheap, buy a Nexus 7. If you want a laptop on the cheap, then either buy a Chromebook or save up a bit of money and get a piece of equipment that’s not going to make you hate yourself.
