te last year, announced a breakthrough in translating. Dubbed Neural Machine Translation, it let ’s AI-powered engine tackle full sentences instead of just words, giving translations a more natural feel. Now is exping it to a several more languages.

Back when it launched, ’s new translator was available for English just eight other languages, including French, German, Spanish, rtuguese, Chinese, panese, Korean, Turkish. Now it is bringing it to Hindi, Russian, Vietnamese, with more rolling out in the coming weeks. The new languages are available anywhere Translate exists:  iOS Android apps, on the web at translate.google.com or via search, the app.

en announced in November, Barak Turovsky, product lead for Translate, praised its Neural Machine Translation’s understing of context rather than words: “Since it’s easier to underst each sentence, translated paragraphs articles are a lot smoother easier to read,” he wrote. “And this is all possible because of end-to-end learning system built on Neural Machine Translation, which basically means that the system learns over time to create better, more natural translations.”
