Android 4.4 KitKat is taking its sweet time rolling out, but least some Sony smartphone users can boast that today they’re getting the latest version of Android.
AT&T announced that the Optimus G o, ’s phablet-sized smartphone from last year, will be seeing its KitKat update over the air today. The update will take up almost 800MB of space feature a restyled status navigation bars, a new full-screen mode, better security, performance improvements, KitKat-specific features like support for Cloud int.
Sony also posted the details behind the Android 4.4 update for the Xperia Z, Z ZE, Tablet Z. The update includes a new aystation 4-inspired user interface, a revamped Status Bar Quick Settings panel, new messaging, email, camera apps. The update will also bring compatibility between the hsets Sony’s SmartB S10. The update is slowly rolling out, though availability totally depends on your carrier.
Sony says that the next devices it’ll update are the Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1, Xperia M2. The company also provided a detailed list of hsets back in February that will no longer receive software updates.
