The promise of a Nexus device is timely updates to the latest version of Android, that’s finally coming true with ’s newest tablet. Android 5.1 is finally rolling out to the Nexus 9, so be on the lookout if you have one.

Making sure your device is running the latest available software is a good housekeeping practice, ensuring you have the latest features with fewer bugs gaping security holes.
Nexus
Nexus 9: says Android 5.1 is on its way, but that means it could still take a few days before it comes to your tablet. The latest build available on the Nexus Developers Site is 5.0.2, though some complained it was bricking their device. obably just best to wait for the over-the-air download.
Sony
Xperia Z2, Z3: Both devices are staying on Android 5.0, but they’re getting a few feature enhancements. Sony says the app switcher now has a “close all” button in the multitasking menu (something that would be a nice addition to stock Android). so, the D light stays lit across all sound modes, where previously it was disabled by silent. A few other bug fixes are also part of the update.
AT&T
G3: This update brings Voice-over-E compatibility a few doses of bloatware. AT&T says you’re also getting the Uber app the terrible AT&T Mail application in this software download.
T-Mobile
Galaxy Note ge: Android 5.0.2 is finally yours, coming in the form of a nearly 1GB download from T-Mobile. ong with llipop you get T-Mobile’s -Fi calling capability, which can be rather useful when you’re in a weak coverage area.
Sprint
Galaxy S5: A Sprint over-the-air update brings Android’s factory reset protection feature, which allows you to require a password before anyone can wipe restore your device.
Galaxy S4: If you’re still holding on to your trusty Galaxy S4, then your loyalty has been rewarded in the form of an update to Android llipop. An update is on the way for both the Galaxy S4 S4 Spark ition, which gives you -Fi calling capabilities.
Motorola
Moto X: The Android 5.1 update is also coming to the second-generation Moto X. It’s starting with a soak test in Brazil before making its way here. Included is the ability to ”chop twice” with your phone to launch the flashlight.
Dell
Venue 8 7840: This device has been stuck on KitKat for a while, so it’s good to see Android 5.0.2 finally arrive. Dell’s UI is a very light skin, so you’ll get most of that Material Design goodness that comes with llipop.
Amazon
Fire one: Amazon’s first smartphone runs a heavily customized version of Android, combining the Android Open Source oject build with its own features to create Fire OS. That’s jumping to 4.6.1, which now incorporates Android KitKat. The lengthy change log includes the ability to finally switch the wallpaper, view notification previews on the lock screen, print from your phone.
