Why trust Greenbot
Innovation is a word that gets thrown around a lot, so much so that’s nearly lost all meaning. Some companies, like Apple, innovate by vertically integrating hardware and software. Others, like Samsung, unleash more product SKUs upon this world than any one individual can count. Which brings me to LG. They wanted to try something different, so they came out with a smartphone in 2012 that had a 4:3 aspect ratio display, the Optimus Vu. It wasn’t really a raging success, but for some odd reason a sequel came out. That didn’t do well either. Today I’d like to introduce you to LG’s third try.
The LG Vu 3 is a Snapdragon 800 equipped smartphone that connects to South Korea’s LTE-Advanced networks. It has a 5.2 inch display with a resolution of 1280 by 960 pixels, which gives it a pixel per inch rating of 308. It has an integrated stylus, a first for the Vu family, and other than that, there aren’t really any specs to share.
When will you be able to buy it? If you’re in Korea, then this Friday. If you’re not in Korea, then that information hasn’t been made available yet. The only operator I can think of that even offered the Vu was Verizon, so if this kind of form factor excites you, then it’s time to ping Big Red and ask them to be a bit more square.
