Pixel 4

The first set of Google Pixel 4 renders have hit the internet and they reveal some massive design changes. The renders show off a massive camera bump at the rear which confirms that the Pixel 4 series will come with dual cameras — if not three — at the rear.

The rear panel also lacks any physical fingerprint scanner thereby confirming that Google is going to make the switch to in-display fingerprint scanner with its Pixel 4 lineup this year. Google is also ditching the front-firing stereo speaker setup on the Pixel 4 lineup. The handset will likely continue to come with a stereo speaker setup in which the earpiece will act as the secondary speaker as seen on plenty of other flagship smartphones.

By ditching the front-firing stereo speaker setup, Google would be able to increase the screen-to-body ratio of its upcoming Pixels.

Google Pixel 4 leak

It will be interesting to how Google takes advantage of the massive camera bump on Pixel 4. The additional space could be used by the company to switch to a bigger camera sensor thereby improving the low-light performance and dynamic range dramatically.

There’s still no headphone jack, though other physical buttons and the USB-C port at the bottom are still present on the upcoming Pixel. The renders are of the smaller Pixel 4, though the Pixel 4 XL is also likely to have the same rear design including the massive camera bump.

It is unclear from the renders if the Pixel 4 will make the switch to a punch-hole selfie camera or not.

What are your thoughts on the design of the Pixel 4? Do you hate the massive rear camera bump?
