The Samsung Galaxy A8s is coming down the pipe, and it looks like Samsung is ready to start introducing its first notched displays in early 2019.
We know Samsung is ready to stop mocking other companies for adopting notch designs and go with the flow, and the Galaxy A8s looks to be the first handset to welcome that trend. Courtesy of AllAboutSamsung.de, we have a clear look at the front and back of the upcoming Galaxy A8s. The renders show familiar Samsung design choices, but also even smaller display bezels, a trio of rear cameras, and more.
The Galaxy A8s will reportedly boast a 6.4-inch display, which will have the “Infinity-O” design. That means the bezels will be reduced to almost nothing on the top, bottom, and sides, but there will be a small “O” cut-out in the corner of the display to facilitate the front-facing camera. In this case, that will be a 24-megapixel shooter.
The handset will also boast a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. There will be a 3400mAh battery powering things along, and a rear fingerprint reader as well. The device’s three cameras on the back will be 24-, 10-, and 5 megapixels. It will be running Android 9.0 Pie and feature support for microSD cards up to 512GB.
Samsung is reportedly looking for an early January launch of the Galaxy A8s, so it’s possible we see it at CES next year.
What do you think of that design?
