A clear look at the Huawei Mate 20's trio of rear cameras

Some smartphone elements tend to catch on faster than others, and it appears that devices with three rear cameras is quickly becoming what some might call “a thing” before 2018 wraps up.

Early this year we saw the Huawei P20 Pro debut with three cameras on the back. And the LG V40 ThinQ just debuted with a similar trio of sensors on the rear panel. And now it looks like Huawei isn’t ready to give up on the initiative in its upcoming Mate 20, based on the latest leaks for the handset.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen the Mate 20, and it probably won’t be the last before the handset is officially announced. Still, it’s another solid and clear look at what appears to be a rounded-square camera setup on the back of the phone, which will include three cameras and a flash tucked inside the border. We can also see that the handset will boast a fingerprint reader on the back of the phone, just below the cameras.

Meanwhile, around front we can see that the upcoming Mate 20 will have minimized bezels, just as we’d expect from a new smartphone in 2018. The device will also boast a notch, but it will be small, in that teardrop shape that is becoming popular with some manufacturers. There is a bit of a chin on the bottom of the display, but it isn’t as big as other handsets, which is a nice touch.

As far as specifications are concerned, the rumor mill is hinting at a 6.43-inch display with a resolution of 2244×1080, with a Kirin 980 processor under the hood, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of built-in storage. Rumors have also suggested the upcoming handset will have a 4000mAh battery inside.

What do you think of the Mate 20’s design?
