Vivo V11 Pro comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and an infrared-based Face Unlock detection. Both of these security features allow you to secure your phones in multiple ways including the option to Lock/Unlock Apps.
The good part is that this feature is natively present in Funtouch OS which is built on top of Android 8.1. In this post, we will share how you can lock apps using the fingerprint scanner and Face unlock on Vivo V11 Pro. The process is largely the same as it is on the Vivo V9.
Yep, the Vivo V11 Pro is among the very few phones in the market to offer face unlock for locked apps.
Vivo V11 Pro: How To Lock/Unlock Apps Using Fingerprint Scanner and Face Unlock
Step 1: Go to Settings -> Fingerprint, face and password and add your fingerprints and register your face data. This section also offers a toggle which allows you to use both of them together. If you wish to use them together, you can choose to do so.
Step 2: Under the same section, look for Privacy and app encryption. Tap on it, and you will be prompted to enter a 6 digit password. While you can choose to switch to set your own alphanumeric password or a 4-digit password or a pattern, I would strongly suggest sticking to 6 digit password for better security.
Step 3: Once you have confirmed the security password twice, you will get a new screen which lets you disable privacy password, change the password, set App lock time and select apps you want to secure.
Step 4: Before you select an app, make sure to configure the app lock time. You can choose between
- After the screen is locked.
- After the screen is locked or app is closed.
- 1 minute after the screen is locked or app is closed.
I would suggest choosing the last one for flexibility.
Step 5: Next select apps you want to secure by switching on the toggle right next to them.
Step 6: Go back to Fingerprint, face, and password > Fingerprint and switch on the toggle for Privacy and app encryption. Similarly, go to Face > Switch on the toggle for Privacy and app encryption.
Step 7: Launch one of the apps you chose to lock. You will be prompted to unlock the app using either the fingerprint sensor or face unlock.
What you will really like about Funtouch OS implementation is that they also maintain privacy. Anybody who shuffles between apps cannot see an overview of the app from the Recent Apps screen.
Now, every time you open a locked application, you can either unlock it by simply verifying your fingerprint or face or by entering the password you selected in the second step.
