Motorola today launched the Moto E5 Plus in India. The handset focuses on design and battery as it packs a gigantic 5,000mAh battery.
Motorola has deviated from its usual Moto E strategy with the Moto E5 Plus and positioned it a notch higher than before. The handset features a 6-inch 18:9 IPS LCD display with 720p+ resolution. It is powered by a Snapdragon 435 chipset and packs 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Other specs of the handset include microSD card slot, dual-SIM connectivity, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi n, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microUSB port.
The phone is made of plastic, and it features a fingerprint scanner that is integrated into the Moto logo at the rear.
Thanks to the 5,000mAh battery, the Moto E5 Plus is capable of playing back videos for over 18 hours and offers 200 hours of music playback. It also comes with a 10W fast charger which might not be as fast as Quick Charge 3.0 but will still charge the gigantic battery from 0-100 percent relatively quick.
As for the cameras, the Moto E5 Plus features a 12MP shooter at the rear with a f/2.0 aperture. It has PDAF and LaserAF and it is aided by an LED flash as well. At the front, there’s an 8MP selfie shooter with a f/2.2 aperture. The 9.35mm thick and 200gms heavy handset will be available in four colors in India: Black, Mineral Blue, Flash Gray, and Fine Gold.
The handset runs on a stock build of Android 8.0 Oreo, with some enhancements from Motorola thrown in.
The Moto E5 Plus goes on sale in India from tomorrow through Amazon India. It is priced at Rs 11,999, though it will be available at a discount of Rs 800 for SBI card holders for the next two days. There are other launch day offers from Jio and Amazon as well. You can buy the handset from here.
