Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Specs and Features Revealed in Detailed Hands-on

Just yesterday, Samsung sent out invites for the Galaxy Note 9 unveiling on August 9. Now, spoiling Samsung’s launch event, Eldar Murtazin from Mobile Review has posted a detailed hands-on of Samsung’s next flagship phablet.

Eldar reveals that Samsung is going back to the roots with the Note 9 this year, and it is going to market the handset as a business-oriented device.

To ensure that Note 9 sales are not affected by the Note 8, Samsung stopped supplying retailers with the handset almost a couple of months ago.

The company is doing this to ensure that a discount on the Galaxy Note 8 does not end up eating into the Note 9 sales.

As for the Note 9, Murtazin says it has an almost identical design to that of the Note 8 with only some minor tweaks here and there. Samsung has relocated the fingerprint scanner below the horizontal dual-camera setup to ensure its easier to reach. He notes that the phone feels heavier thanks to the switch to a 4,000mAh battery which will ensure the phone is able to easily last through a day or two of heavy use.

The display panel on the Note 9 is slightly bigger and it is capable of reaching even higher brightness levels in direct sunlight. The camera module is the same as the Galaxy S9+, but Samsung has tweaked it further for slightly improved image quality. The Samsung Experience skin has also gotten a revamp with new animations and new work modes. Eldar also says that the phone also feels extremely snappy and fast to use.

As for RAM and storage, Eldar says the base variant of the Galaxy Note 9 will come with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Samsung is also reportedly going to launch an 8GB RAM variant of the Note 9 with 256GB and 512GB of storage.

The biggest upgrade is going to be to the S Pen which will now talk to the handset over Bluetooth. It would now also have the ability to remotely unlocked the Note 9.

Samsung is all set to unveil the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9, and with the Galaxy S9 sales being less than stellar, a lot depends on the company’s upcoming flagship phablet.
