A number of Samsung Galaxy S9 owners have been complaining about the touch screen on their device not registering their touches.
Owners complain of their new Galaxy handset not being able to register their touches or failing to detect their touch. The issue is plaguing both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, though its not widespread.
Some owners have been able to solve the issue by doing a factory reset or by increasing the touch screen sensitivity from under the Display options. However, many other users report that they had to take their phone to Samsung and seek a replacement unit to get rid of the issue for good.
Samsung has already acknowledged the issue and confirmed that it is looking into it. The company, however, says that the issue is being reported by only a “limited number” of S9 owners.
It is likely that we will see Samsung issue a software update to fix the issue. Its common for a new smartphone to have some teething issues which are usually solved by OEMs through software updates, and this case is not going to be any different either. Given that the issue has now been covered by the media, Samsung will probably roll out a fix for it very soon as well.
