Google has been constantly updating its Files Go file manager with new features to help free up space on your device. With the latest update to the app, Google has again added some new features to it that makes finding duplicate files and searching through your files easier.

Today’s update to Files Go adds three new major features to it which Google says has been added based on the feedback it has received over the last three months.

The first one is the ability to search for your files using Files Go. Using the new search function, you can search for any file stored on your phone. You can even search for files depending on their size, file type, when they were added, and more.

Secondly, Files Go always had the ability to remove duplicate files so as to free up space on your device. With this update, Google is making it possible to view the location of your duplicate files. This can be done by long pressing the thumbnail of the duplicate file, tapping the ‘i’ icon and then viewing its location.

Lastly, thanks to Google Photos integration, Files Go can now remove photos and videos that are backed up to the cloud. This will help in again freeing up storage space on your device.

If you own a particularly low-end device or you keep running out of storage space on your Android device, you must give Google’s Files Go app a try then. Thanks to its machine learning prowess, the app can easily free up some precious storage space on your device.
