With the OnePlus 5 no longer on sale in the United States and other markets of the world, it is all but confirmed that the launch of the OnePlus 5T is imminent. Now, pictures of OnePlus’ upcoming flagship have leaked which show off its bezel-less front.
Keeping in line with other bezel-less phones out there, the OnePlus 5T is also going to sport a 6-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2160 x 1080. While not immediately evident from the leaked picture, the smaller bezels at the front mean the fingerprint scanner is not located at the front of the device. Instead, it has been moved to the rear — a change which might not be liked by many.
Another leak of the handset on a Chinese website gives us a clear look at its front and rear. While the rear of the 5T looks the same as the 5 except for the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner, the front of the device is reminiscent of many other flagship Android phones featuring a bezel-less front.
When OnePlus had unveiled the OnePlus 5 earlier this year, it said it could not include an 18:9 aspect ratio display on the handset due to the lack of resources. Six months later, 18:9 bezel-less displays are more widely available thereby allowing OnePlus to launch an updated version of the 5 with it.
The OnePlus 5T is not expected to sport any major internal changes. The jump from 5 to 5T is going to be all about the design and possibly the inclusion of a dual camera setup at the front for Portrait mode. OnePlus is expected to unveil the OnePlus 5T in the first week of November.
