Xiaomi Joins WPC
With Apple now jumping on the Qi wireless charging bandwagon, other companies have now also started doing the same as well. Joining the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) is now Xiaomi which likely means we will see the company include Qi wireless charging on its smartphones from next year.
For the unknown, WPC is a multinational technology consortium formed in December 2008 with the aim of promoting Qi charging.

Google Store Trade-in Program Is Now Live
Ahead of the official unveiling of the second-generation Pixel handsets on October 4, Google has made its trade-in program live on the U.S. Google Store. The program allows users to trade-in their existing Android device, with the trade-in credit being used for purchases on Google Store. Sadly, Google’s trade-in offers are extremely low, with the company offering $345 for a Galaxy S8+ and even lower for other flagship Android devices and iPhones.
So, that’s about it for this edition of our daily brief. Are you happy that Qi wireless charging is finally going to become commonplace in flagship smartphones?
