The Pixel 2 leaked in a low resolution render last week. Now, the handset has leaked in some real life photos which give us a clear look at its design. The photos confirm the handset’s huge top and bottom bezels at the front, the rear mounted fingerprint scanner and the lack of a headphone jack.
The handset in pictures is clearly an early development unit as evident from the number of stickers and barcode present on its rear.
The photos do not reveal anything new about the device but they do confirm what we have heard so far about the device. The lack of a 3.5mm jack and the huge bezels at the front of the device are definitely going to be a bummer for many. On the other side, the reintroduction of front facing stereo speakers would be welcomed by many.
The smaller Pixel is being made by HTC. It will feature a 5-inch display with a Snapdragon 835 chipset powering it. As for the larger Pixel XL 2, it will be manufactured by LG for Google this time around. It will reportedly feature smaller front bezels with a new taller aspect ratio display, though it is also expected to lack a headphone jack.
Google is expected to unveil its new Pixel handsets in October. With just over two months left for the official unveiling of the handsets, we are bound to the new Pixels pop up in more leaks.
Will the huge bezels and the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack prevent you from buying the Google Pixel 2?
