With less than a month to go for LG to unveil the V30, details about the handset keep on making its way to the internet. The handset has already leaked in 3D CAD renders and its release date has also been leaked, and now, details about its camera setup and display have also been revealed.

As previous reports and device render had indicated, the LG V30 will now no longer sport a secondary ticker display like its predecessor. Instead, it will feature a 6-inch QHD+ OLED FullVision display with rounded corners. It will also feature HDR10 and Google Daydream platform support.

Replacing the Second Screen on the V30 will be a “floating bar” that will provide users with quick access to their shortcuts and notifications. This feature sounds similar to many floating app shortcuts found in various OEM skins. The same functionality can also be replicated by using one of the many apps on the Google Play Store.

On the camera front, the LG V30 will be the first smartphone in the world to feature a f/1.6 aperture lens. So far, we have seen LG using a f/1.8 aperture lens on its flagship devices in recent years, with Samsung using a f/1.7 lens. The wide aperture lens will also feature a Crystal Clear Glass Lens and improved transmittance.

When it comes to audio, LG is once again looking to raise the bar with the V30 this year. It will feature an improved Quad DAC with the overall sound quality being improved in every aspect. LG will once again be partnering with B&O to tune the handset’s music output and bundle premium earphones with it. Sadly, like the G6, the Quad DAC variant of the V30 will not be available in every market.

LG will be unveiling the V30 on August 31. The handset is expected to sport a Snapdragon 835 chipset, a dual-camera setup, a glass design with a Series 6000 aluminium featuring IP68 certification and wireless charging, and dedicated heat pipes for better cooling.

On paper, the LG V30 seems to be a pretty impressive handset, though a lot depends on how the retail unit looks, its price and availability.
