The Samsung Flow app has allowed the company’s Android devices to interact with its Windows 10 offerings. Not too long ago, Samsung offered the ability to unlock the Windows 10 powered Galaxy TabPro S by using the fingerprint scanner of a compatible Android device. The company is now updating the Flow app to bring all Windows 10 PCs and devices under its radar.

This feature is made possible with the company finally adding support for the Windows Hello feature. This allows owners of Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, as well as the Galaxy S8 to unlock their Windows 10 running PC using the fingerprint scanner on their handset. This new update also allows customers to sync their smartphone notifications with their Windows 10 PCs. This, again, was only possible with Samsung’s own Windows 10 PCs, but the new update changes that.

Apple already offers similar feature for its MacBook for iPhone and Apple Watch owners, and Samsung seems to be taking a cue from the company. The company does deserve brownie points for bringing the functionality to all Windows 10 devices instead of just limiting it to its own devices.

Customers will need to have the latest Windows 10 Creators Update running on their PCs to access this feature. The updated version of Samsung Flow can be downloaded from the Play Store right away.
