Samsung has announced that pre-orders for its latest flagship handsets, the Galaxy S8 and S8+, were 30 percent higher than its last year’s flagship. In addition, the pre-order numbers of the Galaxy S8 are the “best ever” recorded in Samsung’s history.
This clearly shows that despite the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 from last year, there is still plenty of consumer interest in Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones. With their bezel-less design, Infinity Display, and a beautiful water-resistant body, the strong consumer interest in the Galaxy S8 should not be surprising. After all, Samsung is at the forefront of pushing bezel-less design on smartphones. The Korean company has managed to do so at least six months ahead of Apple, which is not a small feat by any means.

Samsung also confirmed that the red tint issue affecting some units of the Galaxy S8 is not hardware related. The company will be rolling out a software update on April 25th to fix the issue. The update will also help resolve some Wi-Fi connectivity issues plaguing the Korean units of the handset.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are available in the United States, Korea, Canada, and Puerto Rico, with their availability set to expand to key markets in Europe from this week.
