HTC today sent out teasers for the launch of its next flagship handset: the HTC U. The company will be unveiling the handset less than a month from now on 16th May.
Quite a bit about the HTC U has already leaked online including its design, which will be similar to that of the U Ultra. This means that the handset will feature a glass design with a metallic chassis squeezed in between.
While HTC is not taking the same bezel-less approach as LG and Samsung with its 2017 flagship, it will try to differentiate the phone from others in the market by including pressure sensors on its sides. This will allow users to do certain actions by simply squeezing the edges of the phone. This is also evident from the teaser below and the tagline accompanying it: “Squeeze for the Brilliant U.”

As for specs, the HTC U will sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD LCD display, a Snapdragon 835 chipset clocked at 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and feature an IP57 certification. Disappointingly though, the handset will lack a headphone jack, with HTC bundling its own U Sonic earphones with it. The phone will also feature a 12MP shooter at the rear and a 16MP selfie shooter at the front.
