LG today confirmed that the G6 will come with two 13MP shooters at its rear. LG had debuted a dual-camera setup with the G5 last year, with the primary shooter featuring a 16MP sensor and the secondary wide-angle camera having an 8MP resolution. While unique, the setup was not perfect and had its own share of flaws.

With the G6, LG is getting around to fixing such issues. Now, both the rear camera sensor on the handset will come with a 13MP sensor. Additionally, LG has further improved its wide-angle lens which now has a wide 125-degree angle of view. The delay in switching between the two different camera sensors is also not present on the G6 anymore, with the dual-camera setup acting like a single unit.

As for the front camera, the G6 will feature a 100-degree wide-angle lens similar to what was found on the V20.

LG notes in its announcement that the G6’s camera is not just about hardware. The company has also updated its UX to take advantage of the 18:9 Full Vision display found on the G6. This will allow the handset to display recently clicked photos on the viewfinder itself without having to open the gallery app. There is also a ‘Square camera’ mode that will shoot photos in 1:1 aspect ratio for easier sharing on social media websites like Instagram.

The Selfie preset has also been improved and now features options for skin tone adjustment, lighting effects, and more.

LG will be unveiling the G6 at MWC on February 26. The handset has already been confirmed to come with a 5.7-inch 18:9 FullVision display, Snapdragon 821 chipset, and an upgraded quad-DAC.
