Last year, Xiaomi managed to surprise everyone with the Mi Mix. The company that was so far only known for its budget Redmi devices and copying Apple’s design language managed to one-up every company in the smartphone market with the stunning design of the Mi Mix and its body-to-screen ratio of 86%.
Despite being a concept phone, Xiaomi put a limited number of Mi Mix units on sale in China and even followed it up by unveiling a white version of the handset at CES this year. Now, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has provided some details about the Mi Mix 2. The CEO says that Xiaomi will once again be collaborating with French designer Philippe Strack for the Mi Mix 2. More interestingly perhaps, Jun noted that Xiaomi would be aiming for a higher screen-to-body-ratio of around 93 percent for the Mi Mix 2. The company will also try to use a fresh new design like it debuted with the Mi Mix last year.
The company will also try to use a fresh new design like it debuted with the Mi Mix last year. Considering that Samsung, LG and other OEMs will also be launching phones with a very high screen-to-body ratio this year, Xiaomi will have to more work on more than just increasing the screen-to-body ratio of the Mi Mix 2 to try and once again make the world take notice of its product.
