A new report originating out of Korea claims that the LG G6 will come with a battery capacity of “more than 3200mAh battery”, an increase of 15 percent when compared to the LG G5. Considering that the G5 was widely panned from its average battery life, the increase in battery capacity should bring about a welcome increase in battery life.

Sadly, to increase the battery life and ensure that the phone is dust and water-resistant, the G6 will not come with a removable battery.

To further increase battery life, the G6 will come with a Smart Doctor feature that will further help in increasing the battery life of the device. To better dissipate heat generated from the battery, LG has also used a copper heat pipe inside the device. This should help in keeping the temperature of the internals in check that should indirectly help increase the lifespan of the battery.

LG was the last known OEM to continue offering removable battery on its flagship handset. While handy in some cases, fitting in a removable battery required the company to compromise on the battery capacity which led to the company’s flagship handsets offering inferior battery life compared to the competition.

LG will be unveiling the G6 at MWC later this month. The handset will feature a water-resistant body, microSD card slot, a QHD+ display with minimal bezels, and a dual-camera setup similar to what was seen on the LG G5/V20 last year.
