Android Wear 2.0

Google has been releasing developer previews for Android Wear 2.0 for quite some time, but the public release looks to be right around the corner.

Google has released the fifth Developer Preview for Android 2.0 today, and says that this is the last one before the public launch later this year. Rumors suggest that could be February 9, and that seems perfectly plausible given this developer preview release.

The big new addition is iOS support, which will let developers connect their smartwatches to iPhones and test their apps appropriately.

Google also confirmed that any apps compiled with Android Wear 2.0 Developer Preview 5 will be ready to go for release in the Play Store when Android Wear 2.0 launches to the public. So if developers want their apps available right out of the gate, this is the way to do that.

Are you looking forward to Android Wear 2.0’s arrival?
