More than two months after it made its Chinese debut, Huawei’s Honor sub-brand launched the Honor 6X for the European and US market. The $249 handset features a dual-camera setup at the rear, which up until now was only found in phones priced above the $400 range. Oh, and Huawei says that it is targeting the millennial who follow the “double or nothing” motto.

The budget handset from Honor features a 5.5-inch Full HD screen. It is powered by Huawei’s own octa-core Kirin 655 chipset clocked at 2.1GHz, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a microSD card slot. The 8.2mm thick phone also features a 3340mAh battery that is enough to make it last up to two days on a single charge.

“Geared towards those unwilling to cut back on performance, Honor 6X is a device engineered with uncompromising excellence,” said George Zhao, president of honor. “Understanding the ‘double or nothing’ lifestyle of millennials, we designed Honor 6X with enough muscle power to allow them to share, explore, and enjoy life to the fullest.”

The highlight of the Honor 6X has to be its dual-camera setup at the rear. While the primary camera features 12MP resolution with 1.25um large pixels, the secondary 2MP camera captures the depth of field information to allow the Honor 6X to output sharp photos. There is also a wide aperture mode in the camera app that outputs photos with ‘bokeh’ effect that is typically associated with photos taken from DSLRs.

Huawei will be offering the Honor 6X in three colors: gold, silver, and gray. The 3GB variant of the phone goes on sale in markets like the United States, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Russia from January 4, with the 4GB version to follow.
