As per Korean newspaper JoongAng Ilbo, Samsung will be announcing the results of its investigation into the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco by the middle of this month. The Korean company had reportedly finished its investigation last month itself but decided to hold off until other third-party labs also post their findings.

By posting results from third-party labs in addition to its own results, Samsung is hoping to restore consumer confidence in its products.

An independent investigation done by a design engineering firm in December suggested that the design of the Galaxy Note 7 caused the battery of the handset to compress during regular use that eventually leads to its exploding. Samsung’s findings are expected to be very similar to the design of the Note 7 playing a key role behind its explosion.

Samsung has received a lot of flak from Chinese customers for the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, but despite the whole debacle consumer’s faith in the company’s product have not been shaken.

Once the findings are revealed, Samsung hopes to move forward with the Galaxy S8 which will reportedly be released in April this year. The company has reportedly delayed the release of the handset by a month to ensure that each and every component of the device goes through stringent QA process.
