Samsung Galaxy S8 to Be Unveiled at a Dedicated Event in New York in April

Samsung is reportedly planning on launching the Galaxy S8 in April next year, instead of its usual unveiling at MWC like it has done in the past. Instead, the company will be holding a separate event for the handset’s unveiling in New York in April.

Samsung has almost always unveiled its flagship Galaxy S handset at MWC, with the handset hitting the market within a month from its initial announcement.

In addition, Samsung will be revealing details about the Note 7 fiasco early next year after the analysis of other third-party agencies like Underwriters Laboratory is also complete. The company will also be publishing their results along with results of its own investigation in a bid to redeem confidence in the eyes of consumers. As per the report from Naver, Samsung’s investigations point to a hardware design error on the Note 7 that led to some components inside the handset bulging and not releasing heat while the device was being charged or used extensively.

This is not the first time that we have heard about Samsung planning on launching the Galaxy S8 in April, instead of at MWC in 2017. The additional delay will also help the company in thoroughly testing the handset which can prevent a debacle similar to the one that happened with the Galaxy Note 7 this year.
