Xiaomi today sent out invites confirming that it will be launching the Mi Note 2 on October 25th at an event in China. Successor to the original Mi Note launched early last year, the Mi Note 2 is expected to feature a dual curved display similar to what is found on the Galaxy S7 edge.
Similar to the Note 7 though, the Mi Note 2 will feature a 5.7-inch curved AMOLED display. The curved AMOLED panel will reportedly be exclusive to the Pro model of the handset. The device will also pack in high-end internals that includes a Snapdragon 821 chipset, up to 6GB RAM, 128GB of storage, and dual 12MP shooters at its rear.
The Mi Note 2 will be Xiaomi’s second flagship device to be unveiled since Apple launched the iPhone 7 in early September. The company has already launched an upgraded version of the Mi 5, the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus that come with a faster processor, larger battery, and a dual 12MP shooter at its rear.
Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun had revealed earlier this month that the Mi Note 2 will come with a “surprise.” As of now, it remains unclear what this surprise is going to be. Maybe the Mi Note 2 will feature a 3D Touch display or to fill in the shoes of the Galaxy Note 7, Xiaomi will also debut an active stylus along with the device. What do you think this surprise is?
