Samsung is sending out push messages to Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners informing them that their device is not a part of the safety recall device. The move comes on the heels of the company announcing a worldwide recall of all the Galaxy Note 7 units it has manufactured and sold so far.
With the Galaxy brand tarnished, this move from Samsung to ensure that Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners also don’t worry about their phone exploding randomly. Plenty of S7 and S7 edge owners out there must be worried about their device and their own safety, so this move from Samsung will definitely help calm their nerves.
The message from Samsung reads as follows:
Your Galaxy S7 is not an affected device. The Galaxy S7 is not subject to recall. You can continue to use your device normally.
It is possible that Samsung will send out these push messages to owners of its other Galaxy devices as well like the Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge, even though these devices are not a part of the recall and are not affected.
