Samsung today announced that it will start selling the Galaxy Note 7 in Europe from October 28 once again. Samsung is already offering replacement units for customers who had purchased a faulty Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung does note that the October 28 date is subject to completion of the exchange program, which means that by this date the majority of faulty Note 7 units in Europe must be returned to Samsung for sales of new Galaxy Note 7 units to resume. The good news is that 57% Note 7 owners have already replaced their faulty Note 7 unit in exchange for a new one in Europe since Samsung’s global program started on September 19th. Out of this, 90% customers took a replacement Note 7 unit from Samsung, while 3% opted for another Samsung device. The remaining 7% customers opted for a refund.

Using its strong retail and carrier partnership, Samsung has been informing all customers who purchased a faulty Note 7 about its exchange program. It has also been sending out push messages and emails to Note 7 owners to inform them about powering off their Note 7 and sending it to the company in exchange for a new unit. The company has also pushed out a software update in Europe that limits the charge on the faulty Note 7 units to 60 percent to prevent them from catching fire due to a faulty battery.
