LG V20 render

LG has already confirmed that it plans on launching the V20, the successor to V10, in September this year. It will also be the first handset in the world to release with Android 7.0 Nougat onboard. However, despite these confirmations from LG, not much is known about the V20.

Thanks to @onleaks and Android Authority though, we now get to have our first look at some renders of the V20, which give us an idea of how the design will look like. Interestingly, it looks like LG has not given up on its idea of a modular smartphone and ‘Friends’ which likely played a key role in the failure of the G5. The renders show a small module release button on the right edge of the phone, and the small lip at the bottom rear of the device further enforces the fact that the V20 can turn out to be a modular smartphone just like the G5. However, the modular aspect of the phone has not been confirmed yet from credible sources.

The renders point to the handset being 7.7mm thick and featuring a dual camera layout at the rear, just like the G5. The handset also does not feature volume and power keys at the rear — a design that was LG’s signature up until last year. The front of the V20 will continue to sport a secondary ticker display, though this time around it will be surrounded by very less bezel space.

With just under a month left for LG to officially unveil the V20, it is likely that we would see more leaks about the handset making its way to the internet.

What do you think about the LG V20 based on the above renders? Are you happy that LG has not done away with the modular design that it first debuted on the LG G5 earlier this year?
