BlackBerry has a few Android-based smartphones coming down the line, and one of those new, unannounced handsets has leaked out.
The BlackBerry DTEK50, or “Neon” as it’s called, has been revealed thanks to a brief slip up with the BlackBerry servers. At first just the image, what you see at the top of this post, was revealed, showing a full-on touchscreen device. And then, soon after, the specifications sheet for the upcoming handset appeared, before both were taken down.
As far as the specs go, the upcoming DTEK50 apparently features a 5.2-inch 1080p HD display, There’s a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and an 8MP front-facing camera on the other side. Under the hood you’ll find an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, and 3GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot that will allow for expandable storage up to 2TB. The battery is said to be 2610mAh. And, finally, it’s said the Neon will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
As far as the final name for the device, that remains a mystery. As does the price and release date for the upcoming handset. Still, it doesn’t look like we’ll have long to wait.
