There’s a company I’ve never heard of called “Deepfield” that claims 25% of all internet traffic in North America passes is related to Google. YouTube obviously has something to do with that, but wow, a quarter of all internet traffic? Really? The number was published by Wired, so I’m assuming it’s been vetted for accuracy, but I can’t help but shake the feeling that there’s something wrong with the data.
Then again, maybe it’s right. If you think about how many Google searches people do on a daily basis. How many emails they send using Gmail. How many music videos they watch instead of buying the track from iTunes. This kind of makes sense, but again, this number just doesn’t seem right.
