Xiaomi has confirmed through a posting on the Chinese social networking site Weibo that it will be launching the Redmi Pro at its event on July 27th. This is a new Redmi device from the company that it says will be the “professional, the ultimate” smartphone in its Redmi lineup of smartphones.
The Redmi lineup makes up Xiaomi’s mid-range so it is unlikely that the Redmi Pro is going to be a high-end handset. If anything, it is likely that the Redmi Pro will be the Redmi Note 4 that has been making leaking in spy shots and TENAA.
The leaks point to the Redmi Pro coming with a dual-camera setup at the rear, a Helio X20 chipset clocked at 2GHz and 3GB RAM. There will also be another variant of the handset will feature a Helio X20 chipset clocked at 2.5GHz and pack 4GB RAM. The Weibo post also suggests that Xiaomi will launch a “mysterious small partner” alongside the handset, though it remains unclear what it is.
As with any other phone from Xiaomi, it is unlikely that the Redmi Pro will be available outside of China, so don’t get your hopes too high about purchasing one when the company launches it on July 27th.
