Google today released the July 2016 Security Bulletin and has also made the factory images and OTA files available for its Nexus devices. The Security Bulletin details all the vulnerabilities that Google has patched in the latest build of Android 6.0.1 for its Nexus devices. Other OEMs that will be releasing their own monthly security update will also be patching these vulnerabilities on their devices.

Google notes that this time around there are two security patch level strings to help other Android OEMs in quickly rolling out the update for their devices. The first patch dated 1st July is a partial level string that addresses 22 vulnerabilities, while the one dated 5th July is the complete kit that patches 30 additional vulnerabilities.

You can find detailed information about all the vulnerabilities patched by Google in July’s Security Bulletin.

Google is yet to roll out the Android 6.0.1 M5C14J OTA update for its Nexus devices, but it has already uploaded the factory images and OTA files, so you can always manually download and flash them on your handset. Or if you have the patience, you can just wait for a few days at which point the OTA update should automatically land on your device.
