LG X Series

LG today announced two new smartphones under its new X series of smartphone lineup: the X5 and X Skin. The smartphones have only been announced for South Korea, LG’s home market, for now, but a wider rollout should occur within the next month or so.

The entry level handsets don’t really sport any unique feature to boast about, though LG has tried to differentiate the phone through some software features. The X5 sports a 5.5-inch 720p display which apparently is its unique selling point from the hardware perspective, while the X Skin sports a slim 6.9mm design. The full specifications of both phones are as follows:

X Skin specifications

The X5 will be sold in South Korea with a price of ₩ 231,000 ($199), while the X Skin will carry a price tag of ₩ 200,000 ($173).

With the lacklustre sales of the LG G5, it should not really be surprising to see LG trying to launch more mid-range smartphones in a bid to try and make its smartphone division once again make some profits.
