Google today added the ability to play slideshows of your favorite albums in Google Photos. The self-explanatory feature works even when you are casting photos to a Chromecast.
The feature is available for all Google Photos users on the web and in the Android app. If for some reason you are not seeing the feature on your Android device, make sure to update the app to the latest version.
You cannot customise the slide duration time, with the only controls being available include jumping back/forward, going full screen, and pausing the slideshow.
Before being rebranded as Google Photos, the Google+ Photos app featured Slideshow functionality. However, Google removed the feature when it decided to rebrand Google+ Photos as Photos.
Google has been constantly adding new features to Photos to make it the de facto photo backup service out there. Sometimes, you get new features like being able to comment on photos and automatic album creation, while sometime you get basic features like Slideshow.
How happy are you with Google Photos?
