With the 3rd generation Moto G now being almost a year old, Motorola and Lenovo seem to be all set to gearing towards unveiling its successor: the Moto G4. While both companies are yet to make any official announcement about the same, we do get to have our first glimpse at the Moto G4 thanks to a couple of leaked photos of the phone circulating on the Chinese social media.

The leaked photos don’t give us a clear look at the Moto G4 from all angles, but they do confirm that the handset will feature a physical home button in the front that will likely come with a fingerprint scanner. The second photo gives us a look at the matte back rear of the phone along with the camera and vertically aligned flash module.

Motorola’s iconic Batwing inspired ‘M’ logo dimple is also located at the rear of the phone. I cannot help but feel though that the fingerprint scanner should have been located at the rear of the phone. The ‘M’ dimple on the phone is perfect to house a fingerprint scanner, since that’s the place where your index finger would naturally rest while holding the phone. It is also tough to make out the screen size of the Moto G4 from the above photos, but my guess is that the handset will sport a screen that is anywhere between 5.2- to 5.5-inches large.

The 3rd generation Moto G was also a water-resistant phone, so it will be interesting to see if the Moto G4 carries over that feature from its predecessor or not. Expect more leaks of the Moto G4 making its way to the internet over the next few weeks, with an official announcement from Motorola likely scheduled towards the end of next month.
