The CyanogenMod team today announced the first ‘M’ release of CyanogenMod 13, which is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The latest version of the custom ROM brings quite a lot of new enhancements, which you can read more about in this article.
Some highlights of CM13 include a new SMS/MMS application, a new camera app called Snap, no Whisperpush support and more. A changelog highlighting all the major changes can be found over at the official announcement post from CyanogenMod.
Compared to their usual nightly releases, a M release from CyanogenMod is more stable and bug-free. This makes it a better daily driver than the nightly releases, which can have some bugs that you might run into every once in a while.
If you have been holding off from flashing CyanogenMod 13 on your device so far due to stability issues, you can flash the CM13 Release 1 of the ROM without such worries.
The CyanogenMod build server is currently busy churning out the first M release for devices like the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, LG G4, LG G3, Oppo Find 7, OnePlus One and other such popular devices. You can find a complete list of devices here.
