invite

What you’re looking at above is an invitation for a Sony event due to take place in Berlin on September 4th. Why Berlin? Because two days later, IFA 2013 begins. What’s Sony going to announce? It’s highly likely that they’ll unveil their next flagship phone, which the internet has been calling Honami for the past few months. It’s final retail name will likely be the i1.

i11

What’s the i1 (pictured above, middle) all about? It’ll have a 5 inch 1080p display, 20 megapixel camera that’s supposedly better than Nokia’s N8, but slightly worse than Nokia’s 808 PureView, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800, and it’ll likely run the latest version of Android.

I wish I could tell you more, but I simple don’t know.

Why is Sony sending out invited to an event on September 4th when it’s July 11th? That’s what I’m having a hard time trying to figure out. More importantly, what if Samsung decides to hold their own press event on the 4th of September to announce the Note III? Which event do you think journalists will attend and which will they skip?
