We have already seen and heard a lot about the Galaxy S7 at this point, but it’s release date has remained somewhat of a mystery.

We did hear that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S7 in the United States on March 11, which was at least a month early from its usual time frame. Now, further corroborating this news is a source of Android Authority, who says that the handset will be making its debut in Europe on March 11 as well.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S7 at the Mobile World Congress next month, so if the March 11 release date turns out to be true, we could see Samsung roll out the Galaxy S7 to consumers within a month of its official unveiling.

With intense competition in the smartphone market and Samsung’s profit margins slipping, it is no surprise that the company is trying to launch the handset early this time around. It would also give the company an edge over its competitors like LG and HTC who usually launch their handset a month or two after initially unveiling it.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to come with a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED panel, 4GB RAM, 32/64GB of storage space, a microSD card slot, and a 12MP rear camera. The handset is reported to come with a black chassis that will help it in giving a premium look and feel. Samsung also plans on launching two variants of the handset: one for the United States that will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset and another for the European market with an Exynos 8890 chipset.
