The OmniROM team today announced that it has started rolling out official OmniROM nightlies for a bunch of Nexus devices. Over the next few days, the team will be expanding its device roster to include other devices that are popular among the developer community.
As a side effect of a delay in rolling out the official nightlies, Marshmallow based builds of OmniROM come with almost all the major features that were present in Lollipop builds of the ROM. This includes features like:
- DSPManager with xplodwild’s Stereo Wide Effect
- Status Bar Network Traffic Indicators
- Silent Mode (separate from Do Not Disturb mode)
- Ability to “unlink” notification and ringer volumes
- Separate Lockscreen Wallpaper
- OpenDelta OTA System Updater
- Support for SuperSU in System Settings
Additionally, the nightlies also come with new features like OmniJAWS (Just Another Weather Service), a Dark UI mode, and an enhanced Do Not Disturb mode.
For now, the official OmniROM nightlies based on Marshmallow are only available for the following devices:
- Nexus 5
- Nexus 5X
- Nexus 6
- Nexus 7
- Nexus 7 (2013)
- Nexus 10
Over the next few days, the team plans on rolling out OmniROM nightlies for the Nexus 4, Oppo Find 7 and the OnePlus One as well.
