Up until now, the Galaxy S7 rumors and reports have indicated that Samsung will be launching two different sizes of the handset with different screen sizes. However, a new rumor today claims that Samsung will be launching three different variants of the Galaxy S7, and not two.
Samsung plans on launching three different variants of the Galaxy S7 to simply its lineup. How? Well, the company plans on offering a plain jane Galaxy S7 with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED screen. The second varian, the Galaxy S7 edge, will feature a 5.5-inch display that is curved on both edges. Lastly, there will be a Galaxy S7+ that will feature a 6-inch screen and it will be available in flat and non-flat screen variants.
Basically, Samsung will be giving you three screen options to buy the Galaxy S7 in: small, medium and large. If you go for either medium or large, you will have the option of buying the phone with a curved display as well.
While this lineup definitely increases the complexity of Samsung’s lineup, it also ends up offering more choice to customers. However, I am not sure if offering a 6″ version of the Galaxy S7 makes sense since then the handset will compete directly with Samsung’s own Note series, which dominates the phablet segment in the Android ecosystem.
Do you think this lineup from Samsung is better?
