YouTube Gaming

To take on Twitch on a massive scale, Google had to go big, so they launched YouTube Gaming at the tail-end of August to do just that.

According to the head of YouTube Gaming, Ryan Wyatt, streaming support is coming to Android devices in the near future. This means that gamers will be able to stream their gaming antics right through YouTube Gaming without needing any additional hardware to get the job done. Streamers will also be able to add video and audio commentary, thanks to the front-facing camera and a connected headset.

Game clips can also be recorded and uploaded to YouTube via the Google Play Games service.

Wyatt would also go on to say that this particular streaming support will only be available in Japan at launch, and stated that “Japan’s mobile games define its gaming culture, far more so than in other countries,” and that’s why the launch is only for that region.

Unfortunately, where streaming on Android devices is coming next is unknown at this point, but hopefully that information becomes public soon.
