True to its words, Samsung has started rolling out a software update for the Galaxy S6 edge in its home market, South Korea, which enables support for Samsung Pay and enhances the overall user interface.
As per SamMobile, the new software update also enhances the overall user interface with new icons, introduces Apps Edge, adds UHQ upscaler and Vacuum Tube Amp Pro for improved audio quality, and an updated version of KNOX.
The update, however, does not bring more advanced manual camera controls, which are found on the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5. This includes granular controls over ISO levels, manual control over shutter speed and the ability to shoot images in RAW. Interestingly, the update also adds the ability to live stream videos directly on YouTube.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is also getting a similar update in South Korea, though its update understandably lacks the Apps Edge feature.
Samsung will likely roll out an update for the international variants of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge within a few weeks as well to add a similar set of features.
