Oppo today unveiled its new smartphone, the Mirror 5, that features a back that is made of reflective cut-glass to imitate the look of a diamond.
Oppo boasts that the handset has been “crafted using a sophisticated ultraviolet embossing technique.” The Mirror 5 also comes with a bi-metallic frame for greater durability and strength.
As for the specs, the Oppo Mirror 5 comes with a 5-inch screen with a qHD (960 x 540) resolution. Internally, the handset comes with a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 2GB RAM, 2420mAh battery, and 16GB of storage space along with a microSD card slot.
At the rear, the handset comes with an 8MP shooter with an 1.4um pixel size and an F/2.2 aperture, while a 5MP selfie shooter is present in the front. Some of the camera features present in the Mirror 5 include the ability to shoot GIFs, time-lapse videos, Beautify 3.0, Pure Image 2.0+ engine, Slow shutter, Audio Photo, and more.
On the connectivity side, the handset features dual-SIM connectivity with a micro-SIM and nano-SIM slots. Besides the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and other connectivity features, the Mirror 5 also comes with an IR blaster to allow you to control the appliances around you.
On the software side, the Mirror 5 comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop with the company’s new ColorOS 2.1 skin on top of it. Some of the new features present in Oppo’s latest skin include smart clearance, smarter homescreen management, lockscreen notifications, screen-off gestures, single-hand mode, lengthy screenshot mode, and more.
The Mirror 5 will be available in major markets across the world including South Asia, Middle East, North Africa, Mexico, and more. Oppo’s press release also mentions that it will be launching a ‘Mirror 5s’ with LTE connectivity in Singapore, Taiwan and other countries sometime soon.
