We have heard numerous times on previous occasions that Huawei is working with Google on a Nexus handset due to be unveiled later this year. Today, a new report from The Information has revealed more details about this unlikely partnership between a Chinese company and a U.S. giant.
The report claims that this partnership will benefit both Google and Huawei. While launching a Nexus handset will definitely help Huawei in making a splash in the US market, it will also help Google as it is taking Huawei’s help in bringing an app store to China. Google’s suite of apps and services, including the Google Play Store, are unavailable in China due to strict government regulations.
Additionally, Google will also help Huawei in marketing its future devices, including the Huawei Watch, in the US market. The company is, apparently, also working with Huawei to make the Huawei Watch compatible with the iPhone.
Sadly, the report does not provide details about the Huawei made Nexus handset itself. Rumors have indicated that Huawei and LG will both be releasing a new Nexus handset this year, with the former’s handset carrying a screen size that is around 5.7-inches big, while the LG made Nexus will be an update to the hugely popular Nexus 5.
