Samsung has said that the combined global shipments of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge have surpassed 10 million units in “about one month” since their release.
Samsung had reportedly received more than 10 million pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge after it unveiled the handset at MWC earlier this year.
“The sales of the Galaxy S6 series have already surpassed 10 million,” a high-ranking Samsung official said. It marked the first time for the company to confirm the sales figure of the latest flagship.
Due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews and consumer interest, many analysts have predicted that the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will sell in excess of 70 million units by the end of the year.
The Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 also managed to sell in excess of 10 million units within a month of their launch.
Samsung has already confirmed quite a few times in the past that it is struggling to meet the demand for its latest flagship handset, especially for the Galaxy S6 edge — whose demand have exceeded the company’s expectations.
