Galaxy S6 Active leak

Photos of an ‘Active’ version of the Galaxy S6 have made their way to the Internet thanks to a tip received by GSMArena. Samsung is known to launch rugged and active versions of its flagship handset down the line, so the leaked images of the Galaxy S6 active should not really come as a surprise.

The images show a less prettier and more rugged version of the Galaxy S6 with hardware navigation buttons, a plastic black cover and a thick plastic shell surrounding the whole device. The rugged buttons in the front of the handset also indicate that the Galaxy S6 Active will not come with a fingerprint scanner.

The source who tipped GSMArena with these images also revealed that the S6 Active will come with a gigantic 3,500mAh battery, which is substantially larger than the 2,600mAh battery found on the Galaxy S6. Other specs of the handset should remain similar to the normal variant of the Galaxy S6, which means that the S6 Active will likely come with a beautiful 5.1-inch Quad HD screen, an octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC, 3GB RAM, a 16MP F/1.9 rear camera with OIS and a 5MP front-facing shooter.
